As is the moon, we are for the moment, but fallen stars. Our forms a pale glimmer of the vast, far-reaching light that we possess within. And so our task begins: to remember, to access, and to shine this light that can turn the tides of the cosmos, if we so will it ~ Veronique Redican

Aloha: Breath of Life

It's been a few months since last we spoke. Let me catch you up. I have been in Boston, the Big Apple, and now am residing in Maui, HI.

For those of you that don't know, Aloha means "with breath". Aloha, by way of greeting is an exchange of breath, of your spirit. When the ancient Hawaiians first encountered the "white man", they were startled that they did not have this "breath".

In the English language, the word "inspire" means to breath in, to inhale, to take in breath. It's the intake of spirit in order to create expression. One who inspires, is one who shares this "breath" with others.

In Hawaii, greeting one another is not a perfunctory, unconscious encounter but rather an opportunity to share your spirit with another. It is the recognition that we share a common energy and are co-creating an experience with it when we meet one another.

Aloha, is an acknowledgment of our abundance, that there is enough time, finances, and love available to us at all times, and can therefore take time to support one another when needed. In fact, it is our investment in supporting one another, that connects us with this flow, and keeps it alive and present in our lives.

The lush lands of Hawaii, are brimming with this energy. It is a paradise that calls to it people to remember their dreams once more and breath life into it.

So many begin their marriages at this special place. A place that is of partnership and community not only with one another but with the land.

Where does your breath come from. What inspires you? How do you share that with others?

If you don't know the answers to these questions, fear not. They are hidden in the chance meetings of ordinary life, waiting to be culled as a wisdom that only the now can give us. They are born not of the mind, but of the moment that is shared between two beings, between people, people and land, and land to land.

Ask not of yourselves, but of the moment what is there for you to give, to receive, to learn and grow, and your daily harvest will feed you far into the future, and heal into your past.

Aloha,
Veronique
